SFTS + YMCo Webinar Series: A 3-Part Live Webinar Series Exploring Twisted Texts of the Bible
The Bible is a difficult text. It is an ancient library of sources spanning many centuries and many genres, and it is very different from the other books we deal with today. As Christians, though, the Bible is central to our faith, and we cannot cast it aside.
This webinar series is designed to help ministry practitioners develop strategies for teaching some of the troubling passages of the Bible to today’s youth (and adults too)! We will focus on the texts that make us uncomfortable, those that we don’t always know what to do with. Contact us to purchase this series along with Study Guides.

Talking Trauma: A 3-Part Live Webinar Series Exploring Trauma-Informed Youth Ministry
Hosted by: Youth Mission Co and San Francisco Theological Seminary
In the contemporary US, our youth have encountered unique problems shaping their early lives: attending school in a pandemic, frequent school shootings, and a reckoning with the history and future of racial justice in our country, to name only a few. As youth ministry workers, we seek to be attentive to the specific challenges facing this generation. Join us for our Fall webinar series as we explore the effects of traumatic experiences on Gen Z and how we can more sufficiently minister to them. Together with faculty from San Francisco Theological Seminary, we will consider how traumas past and present continue to shape the lives of youth, and how we might learn to better support them.

Good Intentions Series, Part 2: "Safe" Spaces
The goal of many youth ministry programs is to provide safe spaces for our youth. But to what degree are we making those spaces "safe" by avoiding talking about important things? Meanwhile, in many communities of color, church is an important place of safety in a context filled with racism and hostility. How do we create space in our churches that is safe for everyone and still engage in today's pressing issues? Join us for a webinar discussion with Rev. Joshua Harper, a Pastor at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Memphis, TN, and a history teacher at George Washington Carver College and Career Academy. To view this webinar, CLICK HERE.
